“We give the resources and options for people to explore, and say, ‘If that doesn’t work for you, let’s seek some other options and alternatives that do work’ “
Whole Pharmacy is building the bridge between Eastern and Western medicine by incorporating the best of age old traditions and modern day discoveries, inspiring solutions to improve global health. Our mission is to further open up the conversation of lifestyle medicine, providing the consumer with the trusted information and experiences they need to make educated decisions for themselves, while promoting the needed shift from industrialized health care to information based self-health-care.
Whole Pharmacy Magazine focuses on topics of complementary and alternative therapy including; nutrition, homeopathy, mind-body medicine, meditation, exercise, yoga, travel, drug induced nutrient depletion’s, healthy living tips, green living, recipes and more.
We understand that patients and consumers are looking for alternatives and solutions to their health care needs. In the allopathic medical system, patients and consumers often find themselves confused, frustrated, and not knowing which way to turn. Whole Pharmacy Magazine is the bridge to provide the solutions and choices from credible sources in our respective disciplines.
We lead with quality, transparency, and compassion in health care, sharing the very best products and services throughout our properties.
Simply put, Whole Pharmacy Magazine has been created to:
- Increase awareness of lifestyle medicine and related disciplines in a fun, transparent, and consumer friendly way.
- Educate consumers on lifestyle medicine and options often not offered to them through some conventional and alternative channels.
- Increase the transparency and trust that has been lost in many aspects of conventional medicine.
- Bridge the gap between natural and allopathic medicine.
- A way to support causes congruent with natural medicine (see Causes)
…While ultimately helping people to make their life happier, healthier, and have fun.
What many people do not realize is that lifestyle medicine, disciplines such as homeopathy, nutrition, and customized health services is core to the profession of pharmacy. More and more pharmacies are incorporating natural medicine as complements and even alternatives to the conventional, pharmaceutical based approach. As health care hubs of communities, pharmacy is in the perfect position to reach out and work with complementary disciplines such as yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and more.
Robert and Amy Kress- Our Founders
Robert and Amy Kress are the founders of Whole Pharmacy Magazine and Media, and have owned their own pharmacy/wellness clinic. In addition to the magazine, they currently help other practitioners grow their passions and business models in integrative medicine. They recognize the value of all modalities of medicine, a perspective that is not just about pointing fingers at what’s wrong, but finding solutions to the challenges of an over-medicated society.
Robert graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia PA in 1994. After becoming disenchanted with chemical dominant based medical system, Robert took his passion for nutrition and became board certified in clinical nutrition through the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board, as well as trained as a compounding pharmacist through the Professional Compounding Centers of America.
During this time he made his exodus from the conventional retail pharmacy environment, and with his wife Amy, opened their own compounding and nutritional clinic, which blossomed into a complete anti-aging clinic housing other integrative practitioners. Both Robert and Amy became certified in Quantum Reflex Analysis, a practice of kinesiology, as well as have trained and certified in other modalities such as Reiki and auricular acupuncture.
